Shemekia Copeland

Shemekia Copeland, blues diva, returns to Hondarribia and this time ready to turn upside down the stage of La Benta.

As a child, Shemekia was already a force to kepp in mind in the blues; soon she began to open a gap to lead cartels of featured festivals like the Chicago Blues Festival or B. B. King Blues Festival. She has also shared the stage with legends like Buddy Guy, BB King, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, and has even performed at the White House for President Obama and his wife. Inheritor of the tradition of Blues (she is the daughter of Johnny Copeland), his career has always been influenced by divas like Ruth Brown , Etta James and Koko Taylor.
