Tonky de la Peña founded his group "The Tonky Blues Band" in Madrid at the beginning of the 1980s forging a strong reputation within the club circuit and Blues festivals and black music. He accompanied bluesmen of international stature such as Carey Bell, Louisiana Red and Charlie Musselwhite throughout Europe.
In 1990, Tonky joined Jerry Lee Lewis Band, and in the 90s, he performed together and recorded with the legendary guitarist Mick Taylor, past member of the Rolling Stones.
Later he accompanied Buddy Miles for 5 years, who with Tonky recorded the Blue Side of the Buddy Miles. Miles was a legendary Afro-American soul and funk musician and an old J. Hendrix and Santana's mate.
Tonky and Paul Orta travelled across the Texas blues circuit in 2006/2007. He has also taken part in many concerts and festivals in Mexico. Tonky Blues Band is considered a model to many young musicians who consider the band as a blues school on the stage.
Currently, The Tonky Blues band keeps touring with several musicians such as Boney Fields Nico Wayne, Toussaint, Enrico Crivellaro and Raphael Wr.
